Vocational and entrepreneurial programme on Beekeeping offered by IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites application for a six-month “Certificate in Beekeeping” (CIB) Programme for July 2013 session.
The programme is intended to provide scientific knowledge and technical skills in the all aspects of beekeeping which shall facilitate in improving the productivity. The certificate programme aims to impart education about modern beekeeping; build human resource in the beekeeping sector; diversify apiculture to increase income of the farmers; and develop entrepreneurial skills in beekeeping.
The minimum duration of the certificate programme is six months. However, the candidate has the flexibility of completing the programme within two years’ time. The eligibility requirement for this certificate programme is 8th pass or professional beekeepers. The programme fee is Rs. 1,100. The programme is offered in English language.
All the interested candidates from rural areas and below poverty line urban candidates can avail 50 per cent fee concession on submission of valid proof.
